Daniel Bezden is an American citizen today. He was born and raised in South Africa, the youngest of three children. His parents owned a publishing business. He worked in the business as a child, wearing various hats, including provision of professional photography by age 13, when he had his own darkroom.
At 17, he obtained his Private Pilot's License. He completed high school with a distinction in Art.
Following school, he spent two years in the Military, working as a photographer (embedded with the 4th SA Infantry unit).
He then studied Hotel Management at the Johannesburg Hotel School. He was awarded as the "Most Outstanding First Year Management Student” and worked at the country's two top five-star hotels during his final year internship. His final year thesis dealt with the process of remodeling hotels for future growth. Following his graduation, he became the General Manager of two privately owned hotels where he also oversaw their remodeling process.
Next, he studied a Management by Statistics Technology developed by L. Ron Hubbard and worked in the United States as a management consultant - helping various companies and executives. During this time, he met his wife, Laura Jones, while working in San Antonio.
The couple returned to South Africa where Daniel had a publishing business - producing calendars and greeting cards for the retail trade - doing business with hundreds of retail stores and various corporate customers including Mobil. The couple had three boys in South Africa and in 2001 sold their publishing business (which is still flourishing today), and moved to Austin, Texas.
In Texas Daniel initially worked as a Video Producer – helping well over 50 local companies by producing testimonial videos. The couple opened The Studio Kitchen, an easy meal prep business, in 2004 and in 2013 Daniel formed Probuild Creations LLC, a Remodeling Company that is run with a level of efficiency not commonly found in the industry. Throughout these years he continued producing videos for his own companies.
Study Technology
Daniel had to become familiar with several different industries during his ventures into different businesses. His ability to study and master any subject happened as a result of what he learned from L. Ron Hubbard's Study Technology. Returning to Flying
In 2015 Daniel decided to return to flying and obtain an FAA Private Pilot's License. He attended six weeks of ground school, and this is where he got a wake-up call about the reality of what new students are facing. "I looked around the room and could see that 80% of the students were in a fog - yawning, not understanding what's being presented."
Online Ground School
Following the classroom experience, he re-did ground school through John and Martha King’s School - allowing him to pause the training and use all the tools he knows about studying a subject. He passed the FAA written exam with distinction and passed the check ride some weeks later after training to a new level of proficiency.
KEYNOMEN
In 2019, Daniel looked at the looming Pilot Shortage and formed Keynomen – and became licensed by Applied Scholastics to help improve the Student Pilot Success rate by using the Study Technology developed by L. Ron Hubbard.
A Better Dictionary
Although there are some aviation dictionaries on the market, they all show various shortcomings. The main purpose behind Keynomen is to solve this issue by creating a user-friendly App and online resource of definitions and video definitions that will be available for free to student pilots and to fund this project through grants and corporate sponsorship.
